Our client is a leading main contractor with offices in London and Essex. The company has been in operation for over 20 years and undertakes projects across East Anglia, London, and the Southeast.

Project value between £1 million and £15 million, with an expansive portfolio of 200 + completed projects across Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Industrial, and Residential sectors.

Project Examples:

* Traditional new build homes – two [phase scheme including retail build and fit out – Value: £2.5 million

* Care homes new build – 70+ key traditional and RC frame build – value: £8+ million

* Education extension and fit out – value £1 million

* 10+ new build 2,3, and 4 bedroom houses – value: £2.5+ million

* Retail/Industrial new build – two levels plus basement – £7+ million

The Role

Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Project level Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a £5 million new build JCT D&B development comprising of two warehouses.

The successful candidate will be expected to take on another scheme of a similar size once they have settled in.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Manage all commercial aspects of the assigned project from inception to final account

* Prepare, submit, and manage interim valuations and final accounts

* Oversee cost control, forecasting, and cash flow management throughout the project

* Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including valuations and variations

* Negotiate and agree contracts, ensuring compliance with JCT Design & Build terms

* Prepare accurate monthly cost reports and maintain budget control

* Identify and manage project risks and opportunities

* Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams

* Provide mentoring and support to junior members of the commercial team where appropriate
