Hill McGlynn are proud to be working in partnership with a dynamic and fast-growing main contractor, specialising in high-spec fit-out projects across the UK. We’re currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, based out of their Whitstable office, with the flexibility of hybrid working.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and career-driven individual to develop within a fast-paced, supportive environment – working on nationally recognised retail brands and roll-out programmes.

🔧 Role Overview

You’ll support the Senior Quantity Surveyor and commercial team in managing costs across a range of live and upcoming fast-track fit-out schemes, ensuring profitability and value for money at every stage.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

* Assist in the preparation of budgets, cost plans and tender documentation

* Subcontractor procurement and management

* Measurement, valuation and agreement of works

* Regular site visits and progress reporting

* Assisting in cost control, forecasting and reporting to senior management

* Supporting the commercial close-out of projects

👷‍♂️ Ideal Candidate

* 1–3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role (ideally within fit-out or fast-paced construction environments)

* Relevant degree or working towards RICS qualification

* Strong organisational and communication skills

* Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment

* Full UK driving licence
