CDM Principal Designer | Construction | Manchester City Centre | Up to £60k

I'm working with a well-established construction consultancy in Manchester who are looking for an experienced CDM Principal Designer to join their growing team.

About the Role:

As CDM Principal Designer, you'll be leading on design risk management across a variety of construction projects from concept through to completion. You'll be the go-to person for CDM compliance, working closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure health and safety is embedded from day one.

Your day-to-day will include:

* Acting as Principal Designer under CDM 2015 across 2 projects

* Reviewing and advising on design risk assessments and method statements

* Attending design team meetings and providing expert H&S input

* Preparing pre-construction information and health and safety files

* Ensuring designers discharge their duties and manage residual risks

* Building strong relationships with clients and consultants

* Mentoring junior team members and sharing your expertise

What They're Looking For:

* Proven experience as a CDM Principal Designer (ideally 3+ years in the role)

* Strong technical knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations

* Background in construction – whether that's design, site management, or H&S consultancy

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels

* Relevant qualifications (NEBOSH Construction, Tech IOSH or similar)

* Someone who can work independently but thrives in a collaborative environment

* Must live within commutable distance of Manchester city centre
