Groundworks Operative
Location: Company based in Aberdeenshire – working on sites across the UK (initial projects in Inverness)
Start Date: Beginning of November
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent (perm in the New Year, subject to performance)

With expertise spanning concrete works, civil engineering, main contracting, and design & build, our client’s success is built on professionalism, collaboration, and the commitment of their dedicated team.

We are seeking an experienced Groundworks Operative to join their growing workforce. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering concrete and civil engineering works, particularly turbine bases and yard slabs, with occasional work in ducts, and drainage projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out all aspects of groundworks, including rebar installation, concrete pours and excavations.

Operate dumper and roller machinery safely and efficiently.

*

Lead and work as part of a close-knit site team to deliver projects to a high standard.

*

Maintain a professional and proactive approach on-site, representing both Activus Recruitment and the client with integrity.

*

Travel and stay away as required for UK-wide projects (accommodation provided).

Requirements:

*

Valid SSSTS

*

First Aid Certificate

*

Dumper and Roller tickets (CPCS or NPORS accepted)

*

Full UK driving licence and own van with tools initially – travel time/fuel compensated until permanent

*

Proven experience in rebar, concrete, and excavation works
