Health & Safety Advisor

£35,000 – £45,000 per annum

Full-Time | Permanent

Hadleigh, Suffolk, with travel into London approximately once every 1–2 weeks

Monday–Thursday: 08:00–17:00 | Friday: 08:00–16:00

A well-respected business operating within the specialist manufacturing and project delivery space is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join its team on a full-time, permanent basis. The company works across a variety of high-specification environments, with both workshop-based and site-based operations throughout the South East.

This role is ideally suited to an individual with a solid grounding in health and safety, looking to further develop their career within a supportive and quality-driven organisation.

The Role

Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for supporting compliance across both the factory and active project sites, helping to maintain high standards in line with legislative and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake regular site inspections and audits, reporting findings and ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are taken.

Contribute to and lead internal health & safety forums and meetings, preparing documentation and tracking outcomes.

Prepare and review Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and COSHH assessments.

Collaborate with project teams and subcontractors to ensure all relevant H&S documentation is in place and up to date.

Keep up to date with regulatory changes, updating internal processes as needed.

Conduct accident and incident investigations, prepare detailed reports, and support any RIDDOR reporting requirements.

Assist with the development and continual improvement of ISO-certified management systems (9001, 14001, 45001).

Promote a positive safety culture and contribute to training and awareness initiatives.
Candidate Requirements

Essential:

NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate

Sound understanding of UK health & safety legislation and best practice

Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Ability to work independently and use initiative

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to London periodically
Desirable:

First Aid at Work qualification

CSCS card

Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, or 45001

Experience in safety within a manufacturing, construction, or project delivery environment

The role is based at the company’s main office in Hadleigh, with travel into London approximately once every one to two weeks.
