About the Company
Our client is a leading Tier 1 main contractor with a strong and growing presence in high-value, technically complex projects across the UK and Europe. With a reputation for excellence, innovation, and delivery certainty, they are at the forefront of the data centre and advanced manufacturing sectors, delivering projects up to £100 million in value.
Due to sustained growth and several exciting new project wins, they are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and support the successful delivery of major design & build schemes.
The Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in supporting the project commercial lead on all cost, contract, and procurement aspects of large-scale construction projects. You will work closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers to ensure financial and contractual control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in managing all commercial and contractual aspects of projects under NEC forms of contract
* Support in the preparation and agreement of interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Assist with subcontractor procurement, payments, and administration
* Help maintain accurate cost forecasting and reporting
* Contribute to risk and value management exercises
* Support the commercial team in preparing client and internal reports
* Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure efficient cost control and compliance
About You
* Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
* Ideally 1–3 years’ experience with a main contractor or reputable subcontractor
* Familiarity with NEC contracts is desirable
* Experience in industrial, data centre, or high-tech manufacturing projects advantageous
* Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills
* Ambitious, proactive, and eager to develop within a structured commercial team
