Location & Commitment
* Project Location: Cumbria, North West England.
* Working Pattern: Full-time, 5 days a week, on-site.
* Accommodation: Due to the site's location and required daily on-site presence, candidates must be willing to stay on digs (accommodation cost will be included in the day rate) for the duration of the working week.
Building Services Manager Key Responsibilities:
You will be the lead authority for MEP systems, ensuring seamless integration and delivery from design through to commissioning on this high-security HMP site. Your responsibilities will include:
* Oversee the delivery and installation of all MEP systems, strictly adhering to project specifications, security protocols, and tight timelines inherent in sensitive projects.
* Direct the implementation of design from RIBA Stage 2 to Stage 4, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with the unique operational and security requirements of a high-security prison.
* Coordinate and manage specialist MEP contractors and subcontractors to ensure efficient installation, rigorous testing, and flawless commissioning.
* Ensure absolute adherence to UK Building Regulations, industry standards, MOD/MOJ/HMP compliance, and stringent safety and quality protocols.
* Proactively identify and resolve complex MEP issues on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to project flow and maintaining the highest standards of quality and security.
Building Services Manager Requirements
* MEP experience in construction management with a primary focus on delivering complex projects within MOD, MOJ, or HMP (Prisons) environments.
* Must have held valid UK Security Clearance within the last 10 years due to the sensitive nature of the site.
* Technical Qualifications: HNC or equivalent in Building Services, Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (HND or degree preferred).
* Familiarity with design development from RIBA Stage 2 to Stage 4.
* Valid UK driver’s license.
