We are currently working with a well-established building and refurbishment contractor based in Portsmouth who deliver a wide range of projects across Hampshire, from main contracting, fitout, refurbishment, maintenance and general small construction works. They work on a range of projects, from MOD, Healthcare, Education & more.
The Role:
We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Small Works Manager to oversee a variety of small to medium-sized projects. You’ll be responsible for managing works from initial enquiry through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage multiple small works and refurbishment projects concurrently.
Prepare cost estimates, quotations, and project programmes.
Coordinate site activities, including labour, subcontractors, and materials.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, particularly on MOD sites.
Liaise with clients, site representatives, and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
Manage project documentation, progress reports, and financial tracking.
Identify and manage risks, issues, and variations.
About You:
Proven experience in a similar role within the building or refurbishment sector.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Experience working on MOD sites or with defence-related clients is desirable.
Sound knowledge of construction processes, H&S requirements, and relevant regulations.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
Full UK driving licence and ability to pass MOD security clearance checks.
