Are you an experienced Bid Writer with a strong background in main contracting?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor in Central London, working on major construction projects across multiple sectors.
The Company
Our client is one of the UK’s most respected Tier 1 Main Contractors, delivering high-profile projects across commercial, education, healthcare, and mixed-use developments — typically ranging from £20m to £200m+ in value.
They are now seeking a talented Bid Writer to join their growing pre-construction team in Central London and play a key role in securing landmark schemes across the capital.
The Role
As a Bid Writer, you’ll be responsible for producing high-quality, engaging, and persuasive tender submissions that clearly communicate the company’s capability, quality, and client focus. You’ll work closely with the Bid Manager, estimators, planners, and design teams to bring together winning proposals.
Key Responsibilities:

Write, edit, and coordinate compelling bid and tender submissions.

Collaborate with technical teams to gather accurate project information.
*
Develop creative, client-focused written content aligned with brand tone and strategy.
*
Manage document structure, storyboards, and submission timelines.
*
Maintain and update a library of standard responses, case studies, and evidence.
*
Review and proofread all documents to ensure consistency and compliance.
About You
You’ll bring a proven track record of bid writing within a main contractor environment and a deep understanding of the construction tender process. You’ll be a confident communicator with exceptional writing and organisation skills.
Essential Requirements:

Bid writing experience with a Tier 1 or large Tier 2 main contractor.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*
Strong understanding of pre-construction and tendering processes.
*
Attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines.
*
Team player with the ability to liaise effectively across departments.
