Salary: £75,000 – £95,000 + car allowance + package (dependent on experience)

About the Role

A leading main contractor delivering one of the UK’s most significant industrial construction projects is seeking an experienced MEP Commercial Manager to join their expanding team in Bridgwater, Somerset.

This major battery manufacturing facility is a landmark project driving the UK’s transition to clean energy and sustainable technology. As MEP Commercial Manager, you’ll oversee the full commercial management of the mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) packages, ensuring financial control, cost efficiency, and contract compliance on a multi-million-pound scheme.

This is a key leadership role within the commercial team, offering the opportunity to contribute to a nationally important build while developing your career with a respected Tier 1 contractor.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all commercial aspects of the MEP work packages on a large-scale industrial project.

Oversee procurement, tendering, contract negotiation, and subcontractor management.

*

Ensure cost forecasting, value engineering, and financial reporting are delivered accurately and on time.

*

Provide commercial guidance and support to MEP project teams.

*

Monitor project risks, identify opportunities, and drive profitability.

*

Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.

*

Oversee and mentor Quantity Surveyors within the commercial team.

About You

*

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.

*

Proven track record in managing MEP packages on large, complex construction projects.

*

Experience working for a main contractor or Tier 1 building contractor.

*

Excellent understanding of NEC or JCT contracts.

*

Strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills.

*

Commercially astute with a proactive and strategic approach.
