About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the Cambridge commercial team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a range of commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects — from initial tender through to final account — ensuring each scheme is delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standard.
As a key member of the project team, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of cost control and commercial management, working closely with Project Managers and site teams.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing cost planning, tendering, procurement and subcontractor negotiation.

Preparing and reviewing budgets, valuations, cost reports and forecasts.
*
Administering contracts and managing change control throughout the project lifecycle.
*
Undertaking value engineering and ensuring commercial viability of design proposals.
*
Assessing and managing project risks, variations and financial implications.
*
Liaising with clients, consultants and the wider project team to maintain strong relationships and clear communication.
*
Producing accurate final accounts and maintaining full commercial transparency.
*
Supporting the mentoring and development of junior team members where appropriate.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within commercial fit-out or refurbishment.
*
Strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of cost planning, procurement and contract administration.
*
Familiarity with JCT contracts and the full project lifecycle from tender to final account.
*
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, clients and subcontractors.
*
Proactive and organised approach with excellent attention to detail.
*
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
*
Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (degree level or equivalent).

Based in or within a commutable distance of Cambridge, with flexibility to visit sites as required
