Project Manager (AC/Mech Bias)

On the award of a new project for a large client in Reading we are looking to appoint a Mechanical Project Manager for a £5M+ air conditioning installation contract. We are looking for an individual to oversee and drive the project from start to finish, ensuring packages are completed on time and within budget. This role requires a strong technical understanding of HVAC systems, experience managing teams, subcontractors, and materials, and excellent client liaison skills. Key responsibilities include managing project planning, controlling costs, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and fostering good client relationships.
Key responsibilities
• Project delivery:
Manage the end-to-end delivery of AC project, ensuring works are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Team and subcontractor management:
Oversee and coordinate the activities of engineers, operatives, and specialist subcontractors.
• Health and safety:
Ensure high levels of health and safety compliance and minimise risk across project.
• Client liaison:
Maintain strong communication with clients to manage relationships and ensure project goals are met.
• Technical oversight:
Apply strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems to ensure high standards of quality and performance.
• Resource management:
Handle the procurement of materials and manage project resources effectively.
Required skills and experience
• Technical knowledge: Strong technical background in mechanical systems, particularly in AC, mechanical construction, and commercial air conditioning.
• Project management experience: Proven experience managing projects, with a focus on planning, cost control, and subcontractor management.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a project team.
• Client liaison: Excellent communication and client management skills.
• Qualifications: While not always mandatory, a background in mechanical construction, M&E, or an ONC/HNC in Building Services (HVAC) is preferred. Project management qualifications like APM PMQ are also valuable.

For this and many of of specialist works installation all applicants must be vetted and DBS cleared prior to starting on site.

Excellent day rates available. Initial 3-4 month project with strong possibility of extension
