Site Engineer
BCS Connect are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer on behalf of our client — a leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor operating across the Southampton region.
This is a permanent position offering long-term career progression within a dynamic and growing company. The successful candidate will play a key technical role on site, supporting project delivery from initial set-out through to completion, with a clear path toward becoming a Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out setting out and surveying duties using Total Station, GPS, and AutoCAD.
* Ensure all works are delivered in line with design drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
* Perform QA checks including concrete pours, foundations, drainage, and roadworks.
* Liaise closely with site management, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure accurate information flow and effective site coordination.
* Maintain and update as-built records, ITPs, and QA documentation.
* Conduct volume calculations, earthworks measurements, and level control.
* Monitor H&S compliance and promote best practices on site.
Candidate Requirements:
* Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience working as a Site Engineer within the groundworks or civil engineering sector.
* Proficient in setting out, surveying equipment, and AutoCAD.
* Strong understanding of construction drawings, technical specifications, and QA systems.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* A proactive approach and ambition to develop into a Project Management role.
* CSCS card required; SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid desirable.
