We’re working with a well-established regional contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the North West. As part of their continued growth, they’re looking to appoint an experienced Operations / Contracts Manager to join their leadership team in Warrington.
This is a pivotal role offering real career progression, overseeing multiple live projects and key client relationships while supporting the Operations Director in driving operational performance across the business.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you’ll take ownership of multiple projects and clients — overseeing the full client relationship, work development, overseeing delivery, commercial performance, and quality from bid through to completion. You’ll provide strategic and hands-on leadership to project teams, ensuring the highest standards of safety, programme, and client satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
* Client Management: Oversee delivery for key clients across 2–3 live projects, ensuring long-term partnerships are strengthened
* Bid Management: Lead and coordinate the bid process, supporting pre-construction and estimating teams
* Commercial Oversight: Oversee pricing, cost control, and value management across projects with the Commercial Director
* Operational Leadership: Manage site teams to deliver on time, safely, and to specification
* Risk, Quality & H&S: Ensure compliance and best practice in all operational phases
* Contracts Management: Carry out the usual contracts management duties — reporting, forecasting, and performance monitoring
* Leadership Support: Report directly to the Operations Director, contributing to business strategy and growth
About You
You’ll be a commercially aware and delivery-focused leader — someone who can balance client relationships, project performance, and team management.
You will ideally have:
* Proven experience as an Operations Manager, Contracts Manager, or Senior Project Manager within a main contractor
* A track record of successfully delivering multiple construction projects simultaneously
* Strong understanding of risk, quality, commercial management, and H&S compliance
* Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
* The ability to manage projects from bid stage through to site handover
* A proactive, collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement

* Salary: Up to £75,000 (depending on experience)
