Background
This role will involve reporting to the Operations Manager on all matters relating to project delivery and working in a demanding environment in a professional manner, where you will be responsible for the successful delivery of our projects. Planning, co-ordinating and managing the project tasks throughout its full lifecycle. This is a full-time position based at our Norwich office; however site visits will be required on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance with our Clients health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
Working in conjunction with the site manager/supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring that approved RAMS and lift plans are in place for all site activities and that they are being complied with onsite.
Responsible for programming the works ensuring the project is properly planned and executed.
Managing the programme ensuring progress and delays are correctly recorded and correctly reported.
Supporting the design team throughout the design process to ensure programme dates are achieved and that the design is compliant with our contractual obligations.
Managing the project budget in conjunction with the QS.
Ensuring all project orders are placed on-time in accordance with the programme and that best value is achieved.
Ensure all sub-contractors working on site have completed the pre-qualification process and that the labour working on the project is suitably qualified and competent. Where required arrange product specific training for our installers e.g Siderise training.
Managing and co-ordinating in-house teams, sub-contractors and suppliers.
You will act as the main point of contact for our client always providing clear lines of communication.
Attending client progress meetings as required.
Review, prepare and issue site pack information – Drawings – installation guides, technical notes.
Arrange material deliveries to site ensuring the factory and suppliers are aware of any site-specific requirements and unloading methods.
Visit site and carryout regular visiting manager inspections.
Implementation and management of the project’s quality control procedures – ITP’s, quality plan and inspection check sheets.
Manage the snagging and client inspection report process ensuring these are closed out in a timely manner.
Responsible for identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.
Work closely with our QS to ensure all variations are captured and that support is provided to ensure a satisfactory outcome on commercial related matters.
Preparing and issuing the projects O&M manual (with support from the wider team)
Key Skills & Knowledge
A flexible and disciplined approach to tight deadlines with a positive attitude and leadership skills would be appropriate for this role, along with the following skills and experience:
Project management experience working for a design and build architectural glazing contractor preferred however an adaptable person with other construction related management experience will be considered.
Microsoft projects competent.
CITB SMSTS certification.
Managers CSCS card (Black)
Experience bespoke specialist fabrication & glazing systems.
Excellent people management skills with the ability to influence and mentor.
Excellent verbal and written communications.
Problem solving skills and analytical thinking.
