Civils Estimator

Kenton Black are recruiting for a permanent Civils Estimator vacancy based in Dundee.

Our client, a well-established civils contractor with a strong reputation across Scotland, is seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Estimator to support a growing pipeline of infrastructure and groundworks projects. If you have a keen eye for cost analysis and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, this role offers a rewarding opportunity—with a competitive salary of £45,000–£50,000 per annum plus benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

– Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil engineering and groundworks projects
– Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to assess project scope
– Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
– Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop bid strategies
– Monitor market trends and material costs to inform pricing decisions
– Maintain and update estimating databases and cost libraries
– Contribute to post-tender negotiations and handover to delivery teams

What You Bring:

– Proven experience as an Estimator within the civil engineering or construction sector
– Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
– Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
– Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
– Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously
– Knowledge of groundworks, drainage, and infrastructure works preferred
