Design Manager/BREEAM Manager – Hertfordshire – Up to £63K plus package

A Design Manager / BREEAM Manager is required to join our client who are a Regional Contractor based in Hertfordshire specialising in Residential and Steel Frame Industrial builds.

Due to the winning of new work, they seek a Design Manager / BREEAM Manager to join their business and support across several niche projects.

To be considered, applicants will need to demonstrate on their CV experience within light industrial projects and to understand BREEAM procedures.

Responsibilities

* Appointment and coordination of the various design consultants on a project, including management of invoices/payments.

* Establishing and monitoring the design programme for production of design information, from the main contract programme.

* Management of the project drawing portal to ensuring the correct drawing information is circulated to the construction team.

* Management of statutory authorities on a project including obtaining quotes, completion of agreements and approvals and ensuring the stat authority works are completed as the programme requires.

* Coordination of “design” subcontract drawings with the design team.

* Liaising with the Principal Designer to ensure all information is correct.

* Weekly reporting of design and stat authority progress on each project.

* Manage of the BREEAM process both pre, during and post construction.

* Liaising with the BREEAM assessor to ensure information is up to date and achievement of credits is maximised.

* Appointing and management of post-construction testing and obtaining certificates for same, including subcontractors and consultants.

* Appointment and management of Building Control Inspector, including provision of information to the BCAI and obtaining certificates.

* Appointment and management of Building Warranty providers, including provision of information, management of the tracker and obtaining certificates.

* Post-construction review of the design process to streamline the process on future projects.

The role will predominantly deal with commercial developments, both refurbishment and new build, but could develop into residential projects in the future
