They are currently seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer with 10+ years of experience within the built environment to join their Glasgow office.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an engineer to help build up their own mechanical team, contributing to their overall growth and success plans of the wider business. You will be given access to a variety of multi-million pound projects and will be working in an environment where you are able to develop both your technical and commercial skills.
Your new role
You will join the team as a Principal Mechanical Engineer. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the Mechanical team within the Glasgow office.
- Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
- Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems
- Conducting site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
- Report and technical note writing.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, codes and standards.
- Lead projects from a design and commercial perspective, dealing with budgets, timelines etc.
- Contributing to the growth of the electrical team, including conducting candidate interviews.
- Contributing towards business development and strategy.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered Engineer (or working towards chartership) with CIBSE or IET.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience within Mechanical Building Services Design.
- An excellent technical level with engineering software such as IES, Hevacomp, AutoCAD, etc.
- A detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work on your own as well as within a wider multidisciplinary team.
- You must be eligible to obtain a security clearance due to MOJ/MOD contracts.
