We’re working with a long-established, family-owned housing developer that has built a fantastic reputation for quality, trust, and lasting partnerships across the UK construction industry. The business has grown over the years but continues to stay true to its core values of people, relationships, and integrity.
They are now looking for a Development Engineer to join their housing division in Birchwood, Warrington. This role will provide technical and engineering support across multiple residential developments, helping to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard from design through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage external consultants to ensure design information is delivered accurately and on time
• Attend and contribute to land, design, engineering, pre-start, and site progress meetings
• Review designs for roads, sewers, foundations, drainage, and site levels to ensure compliance and buildability
• Work closely with consultants and site teams to make sure designs are practical and align with project timelines
• Coordinate Building Regulations submissions to NHBC or LABC and monitor progress to completion
• Organise and procure utility packages for new developments and manage the registration of meter numbers
• Prepare and issue tender stage documentation including pre-tender health and safety information
• Manage the production and approval of estate boundary plans and plot deed plans
• Oversee the timely achievement of technical approvals and ensure documentation is maintained
• Arrange as-built surveys, check for accuracy, and support site close-out and adoption processes
About You
• Experience in a similar technical or engineering role within residential housebuilding or construction
• A strong understanding of design and approval processes for infrastructure and groundworks
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects at once
• Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with consultants, local authorities, and internal teams
• Proficiency in IT systems including AutoCAD LT
• A proactive and detail-oriented approach, with a genuine passion for quality and teamwork
