About the Role

We are seeking an experienced M&E Manager to oversee the mechanical and electrical delivery on major fit-out and new build projects across the East of Scotland. The role will involve leading the coordination, planning, and execution of all M&E installation works, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.

As part of a main contracting team, you will manage both internal and external M&E teams, ensuring seamless integration of building services within the wider construction programme.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and coordinate all M&E activities across multiple sites (fit-out and new build).

* Oversee the full installation process — from design review, procurement, and coordination through to commissioning and handover.

* Review and manage subcontractor scopes of work, ensuring full alignment with the main contract.

* Ensure M&E services are fully coordinated with architectural and structural elements.

* Lead technical and progress meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

* Monitor programme and cost performance, ensuring project targets are met.

* Review drawings, technical submittals, and O&M documentation.

* Ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety standards, and company procedures.

* Manage commissioning, testing, and quality assurance of all M&E installations.

* Report regularly to the Project Director and senior management on progress, risks, and issues.

Experience & Qualifications

* Proven experience as an M&E Manager, Building Services Manager, or Senior M&E Coordinator within a main contractor or large M&E contractor.

* Strong background in mechanical and electrical installation across fit-out and new build projects.

* Experience managing subcontractor packages and M&E coordination on large commercial or mixed-use developments.

* Good technical understanding of building services design and installation sequencing.

* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

* SMSTS / CSCS / First Aid desirable.

* HNC/HND or Degree in Building Services, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
