About the company:

Our client is a Tier One Main Contractor who is currently operating with a turnover of £20 billion, across the whole group and £100M in the UK. They have offices worldwide; in the UK, their head office is based in the West Country and they have local depots based in London, the West Midlands, and Yorkshire. Their overall specialism in the UK is large Civil Engineering and infrastructure projects, across rail, tunnelling, highways, and bridges. They have worked on large schemes such as Crossrail (Tunnelling & Station upgrades), London Power Tunnels, M4 improvement schemes, Queensferry Crossing & Tottenham Hale Station.

About the opportunity:

Due to ongoing, successful expansion, our client is recruiting permanently for a well-established Planner who will be responsible for supporting the successful completion of projects by building detailed programmes from drawings and specifications and monitoring and recording progress throughout the project timeline. This role involves coordinating various project elements to ensure commercial awareness and operational effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.

Reporting to the Bid Manager, as a Planner, you will work closely with the Project Manager, Commercial team, in-house design team and the client, in order to extract information and communicate potential changes and problems to the programme, allowing for the timely resolution of issues.

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must be proficient in P6 software and have a well-developed ability to communicate technical issues clearly. As a Planner, you must have the ability to read, absorb and visualise information from drawings and text and convert this into a robust vision for construction.

As this is a permanent opportunity, my client is looking for a Planner who can demonstrate stability throughout their career, holding each previous appointment for a minimum of 2 years.

Additionally, you must be familiar with JCT & NEC contracts from a programme production and reporting perspective and have a minimum of 5 years of experience working for a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor in the UK, who specialises in major highways and rail infrastructure projects.

Please note that, as this is an office-based role, you must reside within commutable distance from their office in Paddington (City of Westminster).

About the benefits and rewards:

For this permanent opportunity, my client is targeting professionals looking to earn anywhere from £65,000 – £75,000 per annum; however, there may be flexibility on this as the specific salary will depend on experience and suitability.

Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer which includes a £5,750 travel allowance, private health care, 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) and an 8% employer pension contribution.

Lastly, you’ll be put through relevant training and progression plans will be put in place so you have a streamlined development plan for the future.
