Up to £75k plus package DOE
Hybrid working (Thursday/Friday from home)
About the Company:
Our client have been established as a housebuilder for over 60 years and currently have regional office bases throughout the UK. They are recognised as the highest quality major national housebuilder, having been awarded an exclusive ‘5 Star Housebuilder Award’ by the Homebuilders Federation. Projects to date range vastly in terms of specification and construction technique dependant on the location of the regional office. Major projects include multi-unit RC frame structures in Central London as well as town and village regeneration and low rise traditional build housing.
About the Role:
As Senior Planning Manager, you’ll take a strategic lead in securing planning consents and driving forward the delivery of major residential schemes. Working closely with internal design, technical, and land teams, as well as local authorities and external consultants, you’ll ensure that developments align with both commercial goals and planning policy objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead on planning strategy for a diverse portfolio of residential projects
* Manage the preparation and submission of complex planning applications and appeals
* Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and community groups
* Provide planning input into land acquisition appraisals and project feasibility studies
* Monitor changes in planning legislation and advise on policy implications
* Mentor and support junior team members
Candidate Requirements:
* MRTPI qualified (or working towards) with a strong background in residential or mixed-use planning
* Experience in dealing with reserved matter
* Proven experience in the residential sector
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Strategic thinker with commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Passionate about sustainable development and placemaking
