Pile Integrity Test Engineer (244jc) – Midlands to Northern UK – £26k + Benefits

Ideal for UK Veterans from Engineering, Technical or Construction Backgrounds

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

Are you practical, safety-focused and enjoy working independently on varied sites across the UK? A leading UK foundation testing company is seeking a Pile Integrity Test Engineer to join their growing team, supporting projects nationwide with advanced testing methods and equipment.

This is a great opportunity for ex-military personnel — particularly those from Royal Engineers, REME, RAF, or Royal Navy technical or logistics trades — who are looking to transfer their skills into a civilian engineering career.

The Role

You’ll conduct foundation pile integrity testing using cutting-edge Sonic Echo and Transient Dynamic Response (TDR) methods to ensure structural safety and compliance on major infrastructure projects.

Your role will include:

* Carrying out on-site testing using handheld PET integrity testing equipment.

* Liaising with site agents to confirm pile locations and ensure safe, accurate operations.

* Completing and submitting test reports to the office for processing.

* Travelling to sites across the UK (with overnight stays when required).

* Working independently with support from an experienced team and dedicated mentors.

What’s on Offer

* Full training provided – including equipment use and on-site shadowing.

* Vehicle and fuel card for work-related travel.

* Hotel accommodation and subsistence for overnight stays.

* Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.

* Contributory pension scheme.

* Flexible benefits package (including additional holidays and private healthcare options).

* Ongoing professional development and mentoring — support available towards Chartership via the Geological Society or Institute of Civil Engineers.

What They are Looking For

* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

* A self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team.

* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

* Commitment to following procedures and maintaining high safety standards.

* Willingness to travel throughout the UK.

* Valid UK driving licence (essential).

* CSCS card (advantageous but not essential).

* Previous site, field, or engineering experience preferred.

This role is ideally suited to veterans who have served in a technical, engineering or vehicle based role, who is happy to be away from home on a regular basis, and who has experience in equipment handling and someone who is seeking more than just a job but a long term career.
