Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager
Our client, a leading organisation in the utilities sector, is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join their team in Glasgow.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all commercial aspects of tenders – from cost modelling and risk review to board approvals.
Develop and implement pricing strategies that support profitable growth and operational agility.
Support project and contract delivery by tracking performance, maximising margins, and issuing key contractual notices.
Own the commercial forecasting process – working with stakeholders to report on revenue, costs, and cashflow.
Manage working capital by driving timely invoicing, monitoring WIP, and supporting cashflow targets.
Be a trusted business partner – managing subcontractors, leading customer negotiations, and guiding teams on commercial best practice.Job Requirements:
Proven experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role, ideally within a multi-divisional organisation.
Understanding of the differences between cashflow and revenue.
Practical ideas for improving cashflow and revenue.
Up-to-date knowledge of contractual law and commercial practices is desirable.
Commercially astute, process-driven, and ready to make a real impact.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of commercial activities.
Experience in the water sector would be advantageous but not essential.Benefits:
