Site engineer

A leading civil engineering and construction contractor, based in Stockport, is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join its growing team. The company delivers high-quality infrastructure and building projects across the UK, working with both public and private sector clients on a wide range of schemes — including highways, utilities, commercial, and industrial developments.

The Role
The Site Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the technical success of construction projects, working closely with project managers, foremen, and subcontractors to uphold the company’s high standards of safety, quality, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting out, surveying, and supervising works on site
Managing technical documentation, drawings, and quality records
Supporting site management with progress reporting and technical problem-solving
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Liaising with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to deliver projects on time and to specification Candidate Requirements:
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to project delivery.

Essential:

Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer
Proficiency with AutoCAD and surveying instruments (e.g., GPS, Total Station)
Strong understanding of construction processes and safety practices
Willingness to travel to sites across the UK as required
