The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Advisor to join a highly regarded M&E construction business. You’ll be based on a flagship data centre project in North Acton supporting the Health & Safety leadership team in driving standards, compliance and continuous improvement across site operations. This is an excellent role for someone looking to build their career within a forward-thinking contractor that values professional development and a proactive approach to safety and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular site audits and inspections, producing detailed reports on H&S performance.
* Support the implementation of H&S initiatives to drive cultural and behavioural improvement.
* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and company standards.
* Review and assist in the development of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
* (RAMS).
* Evaluate subcontractor documentation to ensure suitability and compliance.
* Attend internal and client H&S meetings, ensuring all actions are implemented.
* Provide guidance and coaching to staff, subcontractors, and supply chain partners on H&S best practice.
* Lead or support incident and accident investigations.
* Identify training needs and help deliver relevant health, safety, and wellbeing programmes.
* Compile and maintain monthly SHEQ summary reports and contribute to continuous improvement.
* Support the ongoing maintenance of ISO-accredited H&S, Quality, and Environmental management systems.
What You’ll Bring:
* Experience within the construction or M&E sector in a health & safety role.
* Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and industry standards.
* Excellent communication and coaching skills with the ability to engage teams at all levels.
* A proactive, hands-on approach to promoting safety culture and performance improvement.
* Relevant H&S qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
