Building Surveyor – Commercial property, 6-month contract, rate up to £38 per hour, Hybrid
Your new company
We’re pleased to be working in partnership with an organisation who are looking to recruit a Building Surveyor on a 6-month contract, to replace a member of staff who is leaving. You’ll be joining a small team who manage a commercial property portfolio, managing a range of general repairs and the project management of some new build and major improvement works.
Your new role
As the Building Surveyor for Commercial property, you will be surveying properties to ascertain their condition, identifying any defects or maintenance related issues, specifying any repair works, tendering for contractors to deliver these works, and managing these projects from start to finish.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring works are completed to the required quality standards, as well as managing the relevant budgets to ensure these are delivered on time and at cost. You’ll be ensuring all relevant health and safety legislation requirements are met and that all risk assessments are in place.
What you’ll need to succeed
As the Building Surveyor, you’ll have a good knowledge of relevant building and construction related health and safety legislation, as well as a good knowledge of project management as well as contract management. You’ll ideally be educated to degree level and be chartered or professionally qualified, though most important will be significant relevant experience from a similar position.
What you’ll get in return
We’re offering a 6-month contract that may be extended and there is a possibility that, if all goes well this may progress into a permanent position. You’ll receive an hourly rate of up to £34 per hour (Umbrella/Gross), 25 days holiday FTE across 37 hours per week. We expect this position will be in-scope of IR35.
