The Opportunity
As part of their continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join their pre-construction team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in securing new projects by producing accurate, competitive, and well-presented tenders, while contributing to the company’s continued success in the new build and refurbishment sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for new build and refurbishment projects across multiple sectors
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements to prepare accurate take-offs and bills of quantities
* Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive pricing
* Work closely with the pre-construction and project delivery teams to identify opportunities for value engineering and risk mitigation
* Prepare tender documentation and submissions, ensuring deadlines and client requirements are met
* Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
* Maintain accurate records of tenders, cost data, and pricing strategies
* Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes
About You
* Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contracting environment
* Strong understanding of new build and refurbishment projects
* Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and commercial processes
* Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
* Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and work to tight deadlines
* A proactive and collaborative attitude with strong attention to detail
* Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
