About the Opportunity
We are urgently seeking an experienced and proactive Quantity Surveyor for a 3-month temporary contract to join our busy team based in Newcastle. This is a fast-paced role ideal for a commercially astute professional available to start immediately and ready to hit the ground running.
Must have new build housing experience.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyse project costings, monitoring expenditure, and generating accurate commercial reports, including CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations).
Manage the subcontract procurement process, including drafting tender and contract documents.
Prepare and submit interim valuations and manage the full subcontractor payment cycle.
Identify, assess, and value contract variations and manage any contractual claims or disputes.
Perform commercial risk and value management to identify and develop responses to financial risks.
Ensure all commercial duties are carried out in accordance with project contracts and company procedures.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a relevant sector (e.g., construction, civil engineering, housing).
Strong working knowledge of common contract forms (e.g., JCT, NEC).
