Location: West Sussex or Kent office with travel to site in Surrey
Salary: £80,000 to £90,000 per annum plus package
Working Pattern: Hybrid – two days in the office, two days on site, one day working from home

About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading South East housebuilder for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team on a major residential development in Surrey. The successful candidate will manage all commercial aspects of the project, working closely with project managers, contractors and design teams. This hybrid role offers a combination of office, site and home-based work, providing variety and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all commercial aspects of the residential development from pre construction to completion

*

Prepare and maintain detailed cost plans, budgets and forecasts

*

Evaluate and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers

*

Measure and value variations and ensure accurate progress claims

*

Monitor and report on cost, risk and programme to senior management

*

Liaise with project managers, design teams and contractors to ensure delivery on budget

*

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors

*

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements

Candidate Requirements

*

Proven experience as a quantity surveyor on residential developments

*

Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement and cost management

*

Experience managing large scale residential or affordable housing projects is desirable

*

RICS qualification or working towards it preferred

*

Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills

*

Ability to work collaboratively across office, site and external stakeholders

*

Commercially minded and proactive
