Freelance P6 Planner

We are seeking an experienced Freelance P6 Planner for a consultancy team on a major United Utilities project based in Warrington. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled planner to play a key role in delivering complex water and utilities infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting on project schedules in Primavera P6, working closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure accurate and timely planning information across all project stages.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.

* Provide planning input and support to project delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.

* Manage Early Warnings (EWN) and Compensation Events (CEN) in line with NEC3/NEC4 contract requirements.

* Liaise with project and commercial teams to ensure accurate forecasting and progress reporting.

* Conduct schedule impact assessments and produce critical path analysis.

* Contribute to risk and change management processes.

* Prepare and present regular progress reports and performance dashboards for internal and client review.

* Support the wider programme team in ensuring alignment with client expectations and contractual obligations.

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience as a Project Planner / P6 Planner on large infrastructure or utilities projects.

* Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.

* Hands-on experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including management of EWNs and CENs.

* Experience in the water sector preferred; broader utilities or infrastructure experience also highly regarded.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

* Ability to work independently and deliver to tight deadlines in a consultancy environment
