You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of projects – from innovative commercial schemes to education, residential, industrial, and leisure developments – delivering expert cost consultancy advice and building long-term client relationships.
About the Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor (or Employer’s Agent), you’ll take ownership of multiple projects, driving commercial success from feasibility through to final account. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to clients, provide guidance to junior team members, and contribute to the continued growth and reputation of the Manchester office.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying services across a varied portfolio.
* Act as Employer’s Agent on design and build projects, ensuring contractual and financial control.
* Prepare and manage cost plans, estimates, tender documents, and contract administration.
* Provide strategic commercial advice to clients and stakeholders.
* Support business development activities and help strengthen existing client relationships.
* Mentor and develop junior surveyors, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
* Ensure all projects meet quality, time, and budget expectations while maintaining exceptional service standards.
About You
You’ll be a confident and proactive Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys autonomy, client interaction, and taking projects from inception to completion.
We’re looking for someone who has:
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management, or related discipline.
* MRICS qualification (or close to achieving chartership).
* Proven consultancy/PQS experience delivering projects across relevant sectors.
* Excellent understanding of cost management principles, procurement, and contract administration (JCT / NEC).
* Strong client-facing, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage and lead multiple projects independently.
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
