Site Manager

Our client are a reputable main contractor based in South Manchester, delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects across the North West. With a strong pipeline of work and a growing reputation for quality, safety, and programme delivery, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager to lead a new-build apartment scheme valued at £7 million.

Project Overview:

You will be responsible for the day-to-day site management of a multi-unit residential apartment scheme, from groundworks through to completion and handover. The project includes 64 apartments over 5 storeys, associated external works, car parking and landscaping.

Key Responsibilities:

Take full site responsibility for programme, quality, and health & safety

*

Manage subcontractors, direct labour and suppliers to meet deadlines and standards

*

Monitor and report on progress, quality, site logistics and material delivery

*

Liaise with architects, engineers, and clients’ representatives

*

Lead weekly progress meetings and maintain communication with head office

*

Ensure compliance with NHBC and Building Regulations

*

Maintain accurate site records, RAMS, inductions, and health & safety documentation

*

Drive snagging and finishing to ensure handover is achieved on time and to standard

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering residential schemes, ideally apartments/flats valued between £3m–£10m

*

Background in main contracting (ideally with North West experience)

*

Good working knowledge of groundworks, RC frame/traditional build, fit-out and M&E coordination

*

Confident managing subcontractor teams and programme delivery

*

Excellent communication and reporting skills

Qualifications:

SMSTS – Essential

*

CSCS (Black Card) – Essential

*

First Aid at Work – Essential

*

NVQ Level 6 in Site Management or equivalent – Preferred
