Contracts Manager
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery of a large-scale residential groundworks project in the Durham area. The successful candidate will manage multiple packages from initial site setup through to completion, ensuring quality, safety, and commercial performance meet expectations.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day management of groundworks and infrastructure packages on residential sites.

Liaise with clients, site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain smooth project delivery.
*
Ensure all works are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
*
Manage commercial elements including valuations, variations, and cost control.
*
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
*
Produce progress reports and attend regular project meetings.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in groundworks / civil engineering.
*
Strong understanding of residential infrastructure and housing development processes.
*
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
*
Good knowledge of NEC/JCT contracts and commercial management.
*
SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications (preferred).
*
Ability to work independently and manage multiple teams or sites.
