Your new company
HAYS Architecture & Design NI are proud to be working in collaboration with a long-standing client, in their search for an experienced and talented Architectural Technologist to join their esteemed ranks. With staff turnover extremely low, it’s rare that they have to add to their team, but this is an excellent opportunity to become part of a Studio who have built an impressive business over the course of their 40+ years in operation.
With a firm foothold in the residential, commercial, retail and health sectors spanning both the North & South of Ireland, they have a robust practice structure consisting of experienced Architects, Technologists and Town Planners.
Located just outside the city centre, with on-site parking and a convenient location close to all main arterial roads in Belfast, this is a compelling option for an ambitious Architectural Technologist to gain a position of security, progression and with exposure to some exciting projects and workload.
This should appeal to those with 1–2 years+ experience working in a smaller practice looking for a ‘level up’ in terms of scale or technical complexity, or indeed someone at a larger practice who is looking for a more rounded & all-encompassing AT position to broaden their skills.
Your new role
As an Architectural Technologist working within this busy practice environment, you will be given the opportunity to demonstrate your technical skills using AutoCAD and wider abilities in tackling rising workload initially across their retail frameworks, whilst also at times collaborating with their residential team on housing projects (one-offs and developments.
Once familiar with systems, workflows and procedures, you’ll be given autonomy to run projects, conduct site visits and liaise with clients, offering a challenging yet rewarding position of variety and complexity.
What you’ll need to succeed
Hold a degree or equivalent in an Architectural or Construction related subject, ideally with 1-2+ years’ practical experience working as an Architectural Technician / Technologist or equivalent in an architectural environment.
(Or hold a HNC/HND in an Architectural or Construction related subject, ideally with 5 years’ practical experience working as a Technician or equivalent in an architectural environment.)
A working knowledge of NI Building Regulations and CDM Regulations.
Fully proficient in the use of AutoCAD and a knowledge of retail / residential projects and methodologies would be a distinct advantage. You should also possess a full UK driving licence to be considered for this position (due to the need for site visits across NI).
What you’ll get in return
A full-time, direct position as an Architectural Technologist with an established, well-connected and reputable practice, access to interesting and engaging projects and competitive remuneration package depending on your experience.
With previously successful applicants who have gained positions with this firm going on to enjoy consistent career / financial progression and long-term tenure, this could be the change for 2025 you’ve been looking for, so apply now to ensure consideration – as interest is expected to be high.
