Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a well-established residential developer, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team and take ownership of a key project in Southampton – a 104-unit new build development. Phases 1 and 2 have been successfully completed, and the company is now moving forward with Phase 3 following the previous contractor entering administration.

The building is already watertight, with internal fit-out works remaining — including kitchens, bathrooms, and finishing elements. This is a great opportunity to take a lead commercial role on a live, sizeable scheme and see it through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all commercial and cost management aspects of Phase 3.

Manage procurement of remaining packages and materials (kitchens, bathrooms, finishes, etc.).

Prepare, review, and negotiate sub-contractor orders and payments.

*

Conduct regular cost reporting and forecasting.

*

Work closely with the Project Manager and Site Team to ensure financial and contractual control.

*

Maintain strong communication with stakeholders, clients, and suppliers.

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential new build sector.

*

Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and procurement processes.

*

Ability to manage cost control and budgets effectively.

*

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

*

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
