A principal contractor with an established name within construction in London are looking to appoint a Planner.
They deliver a high-quality service in demolition, structural alterations, concrete structures, piling and temporary works, covering multiple sectors such as residential, hospitality, commercial and heritage.
As planner, your role will be to support the business on both pre-construction and live projects. You will be offered the opportunity to grow and develop your career within a successful, progressive, and privately owned principle contractor environment.
Your specific responsibilities will include:
• To review tender documentation and create programmes to support tender bids.
• To create an integrated design, procurement & construction programme with each of the Project Leads / Teams for each live project.
• To be part of the Project Team to regularly review, maintain and update the above programmes to ensure focus on the correct activities for successful delivery on time.
• To monitor live projects against baselined programmes, creating drop line programmes and assisting in formulating Extension of Time claims where required.
• Identifying programme risks and problem solving.
• Audit progress on site as and when required to assist the Project Lead / Team.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Proficient in using Asta Powerproject.
• To understand construction techniques, logistics, methodology and sequencing.
• Experience in demolition, temporary works, enabling works, piling, groundworks, basement construction, concrete structures, structural steelwork and dangerous structures
• Have knowledge of the planning requirements of different forms of construction contracts.
• An understanding of the residential sector with a particular focus on new build residential and conversion of office to residential on projects between £5m – £15m
• Have an appreciation of the impact of cost in the compilation of a programme.
