The Maintenance and Contracts Service invests approximately £25 million each year in repairing, maintaining, and improving a retained housing stock of around 7,800 properties and 15 sheltered schemes, all maintained to a high local standard.

The Opportunity
We are seeking two Building Surveying Managers to lead and oversee all activities within the Building Surveying Service, managing a team of Building Surveyors and driving high performance across all work streams.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead one of the Building Surveying teams, taking accountability for the delivery of various projects and programmes.

Undertake hands-on Building Surveying work at a senior level.

Ensure all performance and service targets are met, developing staff to reach their full potential.

Deliver surveying activities to the highest professional standards, including (but not limited to):

Diagnosing and managing housing defects

Managing damp and mould cases in line with Awaab's Law

Overseeing party wall agreements, disrepair claims, and boundary disputes

Assessing tenant own improvements and energy performance certificates

Undertaking feasibility studies, stock condition surveys, and planned maintenance

Designing, specifying, and project managing works

Managing adaptations services

You will demonstrate strong leadership, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a passion for delivering an outstanding service to tenants.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

A degree qualification and/or membership of a relevant professional body

At least five years of demonstrable experience in Building Surveying

In-depth knowledge of Building Surveying practices and Building Regulations
