Electrical Supervisor

We are looking for an electrical supervisor for a temporary to permanent placement with our valued client.
Job Summary:
The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for supervising project delivery, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial & domestic sites. This role involves ensuring that all electrical work is performed in compliance with relevant codes and standards, providing safe and reliable electrical systems for commercial & domestic facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation: o Install electrical systems, including wiring, conduits, lighting fixtures, and control systems, in commercial buildings.
* Interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems.
* Install and connect electrical equipment, such as circuit breakers, transformers, and switches.
1. Maintenance and Repair: o Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure proper functionality. o Diagnose electrical problems using appropriate testing devices and repair or replace faulty components.
* Ensure that all repairs are performed safely and comply with local, state, and national electrical codes.
1. Troubleshooting: o Identify and troubleshoot issues in electrical systems, including short circuits, power outages, and faulty wiring.
* Use diagnostic tools and equipment to locate the source of problems and determine solutions.
* Implement effective and efficient repair strategies to minimize downtime.
1. Safety and Compliance: o Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. o Ensure all electrical installations and repairs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct safety inspections and report any hazards or non-compliance issues.
1. Customer Service: o Communicate effectively with clients and project managers to understand electrical needs and provide suitable solutions.
* Offer technical advice and support to clients regarding electrical systems and maintenance.
* Address and resolve client concerns and issues in a timely manner.
1. Documentation and Reporting: o Maintain accurate records of all installations, maintenance, and repair work performed. o Prepare and submit detailed reports on electrical system status and work completed.
* Document any changes or modifications to existing electrical systems.
2. Team Collaboration: o Work collaboratively with managers, other electricians, apprentices, and construction professionals. o Provide guidance and training to apprentices and junior electricians.
* Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and coordination.
Qualifications:
[Essential] Hold a valid CSCS Black Card /ECS / SSSTS Card.
[Essential] High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrician apprenticeship program preferred.
[Essential] Level 2 diploma in Electrical Installation or Level 3 diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
[Essential] T (technical) level qualification for highway, installation, or maintenance electricians.
[Essential] Level 3 Technical Certificate and the National Electrotechnical Training (NET) AM2 certificate.
[Essential] Work experience and NVQ qualifications.
[Essential] Completion of a 3-4 year apprenticeship and holding a Level 3 technical and vocational qualification or Level 3 Diploma.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a commercial/domestic electrician.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety regulations.
Proficiency in using electrical tools, equipment, and testing devices.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
City & Guilds 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
Experience with advanced electrical systems, such as smart building technology and renewable energy installations.
Certification in specialized areas, such as fire alarm systems or energy management.
Working Conditions:
* The role involves working in various commercial / domestic environments, including demolition, building sites, office buildings, retail spaces, industrial facilities and domestic properties.
* Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
* Physical demands include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
* May require working evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on project schedules
