Client Information

Our client is a leading Main Contractor renowned for delivering large scale high rise residential and commercial developments across the West Midlands. With a strong project pipeline and a reputation for quality, they are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their growing team and play a key role in driving design excellence across landmark projects.

Design Manager Roles and Responsibilities

* Manage the design process from tender through to project completion, ensuring all design deliverables are met on time and within budget.
* Coordinate between architects, consultants, and the internal project team to ensure seamless communication and design integration.
* Review design drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with building regulations, quality standards, and client requirements.
* Lead design meetings and workshops to resolve technical challenges and drive innovative design solutions.
* Work closely with the construction team to ensure design intent is achieved during the build phase.
* Oversee design risk management and maintain accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Design Manager Requirements

* Previous experience as a Design Manager with a Main Contractor, ideally on high-rise residential or commercial developments.
* Degree-qualified in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management (or equivalent).
* Strong technical understanding of construction design, detailing, and building regulations.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
* Proficient in design software and document control systems.
* A proactive, problem-solving approach with strong attention to detail.
