Senior / Electrical Contracts Manager – Hamilton

Purpose:
Lead and manage Electrical project teams (electrical building services within an established business unit in Hamilton.

Projects range from £100k to £1.5m and cover a diverse range of sectors including LV/HV, hydro, rail and commercial contracting.

Reports To:
Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities

* Collaborate with management to meet business unit objectives, focusing on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

* Support P&L and budget production; take commercial responsibility for HV and LV project centres.

* Manage electrical services installations projects to ensure customer satisfaction and first-time quality.

* Interpret contracts and implement controls with support from commercial and management teams.

* Define project scope and ensure resource allocation.

* Develop new and existing business opportunities, prepare quotations, and manage tenders.

* Set performance goals aligned with business strategy.

* Control costs and improve efficiency to boost profitability.

* Ensure compliance with company policies and safety rules.

* Lead HR activities, coach and develop staff, and uphold health and safety standards.

* Assist the Operations Manager with additional duties.

* Role model professional behaviours and standards.

Qualifications & Experience

* Proven team leadership and development experience.

* Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L and budget control.

* Excellent interpersonal and customer-focused communication skills.

* Experience in business development and increasing profitability.

* Effective people management and motivational skills.

* In-depth knowledge of HV/LV electrical engineering services.

* Higher qualification in Electrical Engineering (desirable).

* 5+ years in engineering management.

* SMSTS Health & Safety for Managers.

Compensation & Benefits

* Salary: £55,000 to £65,000

* Car or Cash Allowance:

* £460/month lease car value

* or £550/month cash allowance

* Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays

* Pension: 4%–8% employer contribution
