Senior Quantity Surveyor

My client, a civil engineering Tier 1 main contractor who operate in the civil engineering sector delivering high-value infrastructure schemes across the UK, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in York. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong name and excellent reputation in the civil engineering industry.

Your main duties will include:

* Reporting to the commercial manager, you will be responsible for working as part of the team delivering a £200m infrastructure project.

* Working alongside the operations and site delivery team to ensure project viability and cost effectiveness

* Monitor and report all project costs/finances

* Cash-flow forecasting

* Change management

* Sub-contractor, labour and materials management (placing orders, invoices, price negotiation etc)

* Be responsible for cost changes and monitoring throughout the life cycle of the project

* Final accounts

To be successful in this role, you must have:

* Experience of working in a main-contracting environment with a civil engineering company

* Have worked on larger scale infrstructure schermes

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills

* Be proficient with IT
