Estimator
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our clients team and take ownership of pricing incoming works. This role will work closely with both the Business Development and Commercial departments to ensure accurate, competitive, and commercially sound pricing across a variety of projects.
A strong understanding of the social housing sector is essential. Experience within the fire safety industry is highly desirable, but we are open to candidates from a general construction background who can demonstrate solid knowledge of social housing requirements and challenges.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for incoming projects based on specifications, drawings, and client requirements
* Collaborate with Business Development to assess tender opportunities and support bid submissions
* Work alongside the Commercial team to ensure pricing strategies align with business goals
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
* Maintain and update cost databases and pricing models
* Attend site visits and client meetings to gather information and clarify project scope
* Ensure all estimates comply with relevant regulations and industry standards
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience as an Estimator within construction, ideally with exposure to social housing projects
* Knowledge of fire safety works such as fire doors, alarms, and compartmentation is a strong advantage
* Strong analytical and numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
* Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively
* Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications in construction, quantity surveying, or a related field
* Membership of a professional body such as RICS or CIOB is beneficial but not essential
