Civils Site Manager
We Build Recruitment are now recruiting for a Civils Site Manager on behalf of our client, a leading North West based Civils contractor.
The Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of all groundwork and civil engineering activities on-site. This includes overseeing site operations, ensuring health and safety compliance, maintaining quality standards, managing labour and subcontractors, and ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate all site-based groundworks operations, including excavation, drainage, foundations, roads, and external works.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
* Oversee site health, safety, and environmental management, ensuring full compliance with legislation and company procedures.
* Manage and monitor site labour, plant, and materials to achieve maximum efficiency and cost control.
* Liaise with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and local authorities to ensure smooth progress of works.
* Conduct daily site briefings, toolbox talks, and ensure method statements and risk assessments are in place.
* Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, progress reports, material deliveries, and plant usage.
* Work closely with the commercial team to monitor progress, variations, and resource requirements.
* Drive quality and productivity on-site, ensuring all work meets required standards and specifications.
* Identify and resolve any technical or site-related issues promptly.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
* Proven experience as a Site Manager (Groundworks / Civil Engineering).
* Strong technical understanding of groundwork activities — drainage, foundations, roads, utilities, etc.
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification.
* CSCS (Black Card or equivalent).
* First Aid at Work certification.
* Full UK driving licence
