About the Role

As an Assistant Planner, you’ll play a key role in supporting the planning function across a variety of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Working closely with experienced Planners and project teams, you’ll help develop, maintain, and analyse construction programmes that drive successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Planner/Senior Planner in developing and managing construction programmes that are accurate, realistic, and contractually compliant.
Assist in producing and maintaining NEC3/NEC4 programmes for submission and acceptance.
Monitor progress on site, collect data, and help produce reports for internal reviews and client updates.
Contribute to the review of compensation events and variations, gathering programme evidence to support contractual submissions.
Help prepare project dashboards, progress reports, and programme outputs for both internal and external stakeholders.
Support commercial and project teams with programme-related information to aid cost and resource planning.
Assist with tender programmes and preconstruction planning to support competitive bids.
Learn from and collaborate with the wider planning team, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
Provide support to site teams with short-term planning activities. About You
A relevant qualification (or working towards) in engineering, construction management, or project management, or equivalent practical experience.
Keen interest in construction project planning and a good understanding of how projects are delivered on site.
Familiarity with Asta Powerproject or similar planning software is desirable (training provided).
Strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills, with great attention to detail.
Proactive, eager to learn, and motivated to develop a career in planning.
Previous exposure to civil engineering or infrastructure projects is advantageous. Location Based in Bridgend.
