Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire

Day Rate: £400 – £450 per day (Outside IR35)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a major Highways infrastructure project in Gloucester. This is a long-term freelance opportunity (12–18 months) offering Outside IR35 engagement and excellent day rates.

You’ll be an integral part of the site team, supporting setting out, QA, and technical delivery across various stages of construction. Weekend work is available for those looking to maximise earnings.

Key Responsibilities

Setting out and surveying for highways and civils works

*

Managing and recording QA documentation

*

Supporting the Site Agent and Project Manager with daily site coordination

*

Liaising with subcontractors and ensuring works are completed to specification

*

Monitoring progress, H&S compliance, and maintaining accurate site records

Requirements

*

HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

*

Proven experience on Highways or major infrastructure projects

*

Proficient with Total Station, GPS, and AutoCAD

*

Strong understanding of QA processes and site documentation

*

Valid CSCS card

*

SMSTS or SSSTS advantageous
