Quantity Surveyor
A client within the Public Sector based in North Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their Capital Projects and Maintenance team as soon as possible.
The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a highways or property maintenance environment.
The Role Key purpose of the role:
To provide commercial and cost management support for the delivery of capital and planned maintenance projects across a diverse commercial property and highways portfolio, ensuring value for money and compliance with governance standards throughout project delivery.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Managing cost forecasting, budgeting, and value reconciliation across projects.
• Administering contracts and subcontracts, including change control and final accounts.
• Supporting procurement and supply chain management activities.
• Providing commercial advice and ensuring compliance with governance and legal requirements.
• Collaborating closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require:
• HNC in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline.
• A valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain).
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across North Yorkshire.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Strong commercial understanding of civil engineering and maintenance operations.
• Excellent knowledge of NEC and other standard forms of construction contracts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Project.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £30 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £24 per hour PAYE).
