Salary: Up to £52,000 + Benefits
Shift Pattern: 4 Days On, 4 Days Off (Days Only – 7am – 7pm)
The Opportunity
We are a leading global provider of integrated facilities management solutions, and we are currently recruiting for a Working Supervisor to join our team on a prestigious commercial contract. This role offers an excellent 4 on 4 off days-only shift pattern, providing a fantastic work-life balance.
You will be the vital link between the management team and the on-site engineers, spending your time both delivering hands-on maintenance and leading the shift's operational success. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer ready to take the next step into leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Shift Management
Shift Supervision: Lead and coordinate all engineering activities during your 4-day shift cycle, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and on time.
Work Allocation: Distribute and manage the daily workload for the shift team, prioritising reactive work orders via the CAFM system to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Contractor Oversight: Manage and induct visiting specialist sub-contractors, ensuring strict compliance with site procedures and the Permit to Work system.
Documentation: Review and sign off on completed work packs, ensuring accurate data logging and meticulous record-keeping for all maintenance and compliance checks.
Technical & Hands-On Duties
Fault Resolution: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across the site's critical infrastructure.
Hands-On Maintenance: Utilise your trade expertise (electrical or mechanical bias preferred) to perform inspections, testing, fault-finding, and complex technical repairs.
Compliance Checks: Ensure all critical plant and equipment (e.g., HVAC, lighting, fire alarms, electrical distribution) remains compliant with UK statutory regulations.
Quality Control: Ensure the quality of all remedial and maintenance works performed by both the in-house team and external vendors meets the highest standards.
What You'll Bring
Technical Qualification (Essential): Must hold a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services discipline.
Experience: Proven background working within a commercial or critical environment (e.g., high-rise office, data centre, hospital).
Leadership Skills: Previous experience acting as a Lead Engineer, Shift Lead, or Supervisor, with demonstrable ability to manage workloads and motivate a team.
H&S Knowledge: A strong understanding and practical application of UK Health & Safety legislation (e.g., Permit to Work, RAMS).
