Building Surveyor – Main Contractor (Social Housing Projects)

Location: Sandwell, West Midlands
Salary: £Negotiable (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
Our client, a well-established main contractor operating across the West Midlands, is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of social housing maintenance and refurbishment projects within the Sandwell area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and detail-oriented surveyor with a strong understanding of the National Housing Federation Schedule of Rates (NHF SoR) to contribute to a respected and growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct detailed site surveys, inspections, and measurements for social housing projects.

*

Prepare accurate schedules of works and cost estimates using the NHF Schedule of Rates.

*

Oversee and manage repair, maintenance, and refurbishment contracts from inception to completion.

*

Liaise with clients, tenants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure high-quality delivery.

*

Prepare reports, valuations, and progress updates for stakeholders.

*

Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and contractual standards.

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Building Surveyor, ideally within a main contractor or social housing environment.

*

Strong working knowledge of the National Housing Federation Schedule of Rates (NHF SoR) is essential.

*

Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills.

*

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

*

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
