Your new role
My client are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join their team as an Estimator & Quantity Surveyor. This dual role is crucial to the success of their projects, ensuring accurate cost estimation and effective cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Analyse project requirements and specifications to determine costs.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop accurate estimates.
- Monitor project costs and ensure they remain within budget.
- Prepare and submit regular cost reports and forecasts.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive prices.
- Manage contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- Provide support in the preparation of tender documents and bids.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Estimator and/or Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, estimating software).
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
